Hill Farm Website Design

I typically try to keep these blogs straight forward and business professional, if this blog for my company were a business woman she would be dressed in a nice blouse and wear a blazer. There are however exceptions, when exceptions are necessary, and this is one of those times.

After working on The website for Shiloh Pottery, the co-owner Marty was kind enough to send me not only one but about ten referrals of other artists and farms that are in need of website designs. She is truly a blessing and I cherish her so much. One of the first referrals was her good friend Gwen at Hill Farm.

The first time I met Gwen I pulled up her long driveway to find sheep roaming in fields next to me, animals walking about, and two very loud sheep dogs greeting me as I got out of my truck. Gwen greeted me and I instantly fell in love. To say that we are kindred spirits is an understatement. I have now described her to friends as a alternate version of myself who has come from the future to work with me.

A former Art teacher, lover of animals, maker and crafts, baker, and collector of bones, the two of us have enough in common to match 100% on any dating site. It’s her glowing personality and direct nature that bring me so much joy and made creating this website for her farm fun and exciting for me, even though it involved so much time and work.

Because her website features an online store of over 70 items, the time involved with taking care of inventory was already A LOT. I did it all with a smile though.

I visited the farm several times, once to take a video of the beautiful Norwegian sheep running to switch pastures for the home page, and I hope to visit still whenever I have time. It warms my heart so much to be able to introduce this site to the public and hopefully create a platform for her to sell her yarn and handmade goods.

I hope that you’ll take time to appreciate not just the website design and thought that went into this site, but also the amazing people behind it and the love and care that they put into everything they do.
