Website Design Spotlight: Tom's Cabin
I was approached by a small business for a website and some marketing help around 6 months ago. I was in for a very exciting ride, and I had no idea! But first a little bit about the business.
Tom’s Cabin is a unique and quaint giftshop owned by a husband and wife team in Westminster, MD. Husband Tom is a retired woodworking teacher for the county, so needless to say the handmade wood items for sale are just, breathtaking. While they don’t wish to be “known” for their birdhouses, I have to say they are a favorite of mine and most customers. Some of the other wood pieces that are featured include charcuterie boards, gardening tables, cutting boards, and so much more.
In addition to the handmade pieces they carry a TON of locally sourced goods and vendored goods from other retailers, and they also sell a large amount of antiques and art.
The owners Mia and Tom are wonderful and creative people. We worked very well together getting them set up with a website that featured a huge amount of pictures, an organized section for unique hours, and about info that helps people to understand how special the cabin really is.
After some major issues with color and layout we came to agreement on the final site, which we are very excited to share. During the process the cabin also because clients of our Design and had us create the illustrated cabin logo, Business cards and rack cards, AND social media training!
We are really proud of our design and work here, but most importantly we are thrilled that we were able to help Tom’s Cabin to increase traffic, brand awareness and sales, as they are now reporting more booming business than ever! Good luck to the couple and we hope you’ll check out their website and visit them in person, you won’t be disappointed.
